Instead of waking up at eleven in the morning to the sound of kids on summer break playing outside my bedroom window I am greeted to the new day by the sound of my alarm-clock at seven in the morning.
Instead of staying in bed for half an hour before I brew a cup of coffee and watch the first out of three daily games of the World Cup I snooze for fifteen minutes, get a quick shower and have some breakfast before I catch bus 540 towards Universitetet.
A summer day involving sunshine, football, and idleness has now turned into a famous Dolly Parton-song.
The funny thing is that I like both of these lifestyles just as much. Working 9 to 5 can be just as good and beneficial for you as a person as a relaxing day in the sun.
Some say that workers can´t think, and that thinkers’ can't work, I beg to disagree.
The thing that is important is that you have a daily life that you are happy with and that you take the time to enjoy the small things in life.
For most people that translate to having a job that one is happy with, a job that can help you grow as a person. For you, as an international student in Stockholm, it means that you enjoy your new life, you enjoy the city you currently live in, and you find meaningful things to do a part from going to class. It is my job to help you all with this. As you understand by now I quite like that job.
Being a new international student in Stockholm I am very sure that your life has changed, just like mine have. Therefore I think you can all relate to what I am saying.
Let’s move on to the small things in life…
Regardless if you have your feet up, with your eyes focused on a televised football game while you relax on the couch in your living room or if you are sitting on your desk chair with your eyes focused on the inbox of your e-mail account one thing is for certain; You got to take the time to enjoy the small things in life.
Those small things can be anything from the smile you get when you say hello to a person on the street or the breeze of cold wind that enter the office when you open your window during the day´s most hectic hour.
Those small things are also what can make or break a day, and that is why it is so important to take the time to enjoy them.
During the final days of his life singer-songwriter Warren Zevon was asked if there were any advice he could give the people that would live to see the light of day for a longer period of time than he would. Zevon simply replied, “Enjoy every sandwich”.
So make sure that you all do that. Take it all in and as cliché as it might sound, seize the day.
Love one another

Good writing boss, I enjoyed that.
With wide smile, I take a succulent bite from my Wasa with cheese.
i like ur article, it's beautiful and inspiring~
Thank you both for the compliments.
A writer without a reader is as functional as a Wasa with cheese without an eater.
Your smile could change even a life's person from despair to joy.
Keep on smiling Sebatsian. There are people who care too much about those small and yet great things such as a sincere smile coming from the depth of the heart.
Taks mucka for your smile.

Very inspiring Sir!
Thank you for those kind words Caspar.
And when I think about my old job as international student coordinator I must say that I had a great time.
