War/Peace - Free documentary Screening

Cinemondo together with the UNA Youth & Student Sections proudly presents the free screening of documentary War/Peace. The screening will be followed by a live link Q&A with the Finnish director Inderjit Kaur Khalsa.

The 7th of december, 18.00 in Room B3

SYNOPSIS
War/Peace documentary film is re-introducing radical student activists from the late 60s. Ex-leaders of The Weather Underground movement Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn are controversial characters in the United States based on public opinion.
For decades the government and press have tried their best to silence these minds.
The world is changing and nobody can predict what is to come.
This film will serve as an historical reminder of what happened the last time a group of young minds planned to take over the government in the United States.
The film is also asking a question; how can we make a change if peaceful demonstration is not effective and violence only brings more violence?
What can we do?

Free Screening "The Clean Bin Project" and discussion on Waste Reduction

Cinemondo and Symbios present the clean bin project: a documentary for FREE on Thursday November 23 at 6pm in Hörsal 3 as part of the European Week of Waste reduction.

Approximately 450kg of waste are produced by each person in Sweden each year in private households alone. Whole islands of garbage float in the oceans and plastic and plastic can be traced in parts of the human body even in breastmilk. Let’s explore and discuss together next Thursday which alternatives there are.

We show an inspiring documentary about Grant and Jen who go head to head in a comedic competition to live zero waste for an entire year. This multiple award winning, festival favourite shares moments of humour, struggle, and hope in the cinematic and creatively executed story of a couple who ask the question “What can an individual do?” Described as a combination of An Inconvenient Truth and Super Size Me, The Clean Bin Project features laugh out loud moments, stop motion animations, and captivating interviews with TED lecturers Chris Jordan and Captain Charles Moore.

After the film, Symbios will present their current campaigns and some tips to become more eco-friendly on campus, and we all will have the opportunity to discuss the ways to reduce waste in everyday life.
