The student rights work performed by Student Councils constitute the mainstay of the student governance at Stockholm University. The councils are built upon students' intent on organizing themselves to better their education. They are a part of the Student Union but exercise a great deal of independence on how to work and which objectives to pursue.
The main task of a Student Council is to represent the students at a given department/programme/course and work towards improving the quality of the education. Their work may also extend to other matters such as equality, environmental health, career opportunities and social events.
Swedish are predominantly spoken throughout the Student Councils. However, people of all languages are encouraged to participate in student governance.
To join, please contact the Student Council at your department. You are also welcome with inquiries on student participation to the Student Governance Officer at your faculty.
