Welcome to a lecture will Stockholm Association of International Affairs, the 28th of march, in lecture hall D9, Södra Huset.
"In this lecture, we want to raise the awareness of teenage girls in crises and conflicts, their vulnerability and needs - and what the international community does and should do. We will look deeper into three modern crises, and see them from a teenage girl's perspective. Our goal is to broaden the image of humanitarian disasters and shed light on one of the greatest humanitarian challenges of today."
The speaker, Agnes Björn, is Nordic humanitarian manager of Plan International, based in Stockholm. She has worked for the UN and various NGOs in crises and conflicts around the world, including in Palestine, Tanzania, Peru and Nigeria. Agnes is a political scientist focusing on peace and conflict studies and graduated from Umeå University in 2009.
The event is free for members of UF Stockholm and 30kr for non-members. You can become a member on the spot for only 50kr.
Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
